Benefits of a Cervical Pillow

Your bedroom setting is vital to getting consistent sleep. Creating a bedroom environment that is conducive for falling asleep and staying asleep is a key part of sleep hygiene, which can enable quality rest night after night.” [1] I came to realize that all elements of a bedroom and bedding work together to create the perfect sleep environment for your individual needs. You might design your bedroom around the space, a medical condition, a theme, or just plain ambiance. The bedding, pillows, lighting, scent(s) (if applicable), temperature, and sound all have a direct effect on an individuals’ quality of sleep. “Cultivating a relaxing ambience for sleep involves both visual design and practical setup, including its lighting, sound, and smell. Considering these elements of your sleep setting can help you cultivate your ideal bedroom for optimal sleep.”[2]  There are also external factors that come into play such as physical conditions. I have encountered individuals who have cervical conditions, spinal conditions, headaches, and back pain.

For those suffering from back and neck pain a cervical pillow can be the difference between day and night. A Cervical Pillow actually helps improve your posture while you sleep and can also improve your sleep quality by relieving and supporting tense muscles in your neck and shoulders, and increasing blood flow to your head. You don’t have to be a senior citizen to need a cervical pillow. Cervical pillows are usually made of memory foam with slow rebound to ensure better pressure absorption, which will reduce the pressure on blood vessels when sleeping therefore improving quality of sleep. This memory foam pillow will give you a relaxed, peaceful sleep every time. It aligns not only the vertebrae but also the cervix, head, and shoulder whether sleeping on your back or side. It’s a great form of remedy to the aches caused by scoliosis, neck surgery, and after a cervical fusion. It may also be more suitable for individuals who have a milder form of sleep apnea. Reducing pressure in the neck may help alleviate pain in the neck area and improve sleep apnea. The Contour Memory Foam Pillow helps a person breathe better by supporting their neck.
